“Rebecca’s gardening educational curriculum Up from the Ground is a wonderful resource for both educators and parents alike! The program has lots of activities and room for exploration for young hands and minds, as well as being fun too! It’s a great learning tool for garden education!”
-Rod Meyers, M. Rav, Director, Real Kids Learning
“Rebecca’s wonderful workbook brings back nostalgic memories of planting and nurturing the garden along-side my father who spurred my own passion for gardening and nutrition. Rebecca’s book provides a great hands-on tool for parents and educators to help educate children about where their food comes from, as well as to help them engage all their senses and to delight in the cycles of nature. When children play an active role in growing and preparing their own food, they are less likely to be picky eaters and enjoy a variety of fruits and vegetables with a wide array of nutrients. Extensive research also supports that when children are allowed to play in the dirt, they are exposed to the beneficial soil microbes that strengthen the immune system and lower their risk for developing allergies, asthma and other childhood illnesses.”
– Rebecca Oosterhout, MS, RD, CD, CLT
